Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean have been invited to Sarajevo to perform their Bolero routine, 30 years after they won gold medals at the Winter Olympics.

The achievement on ice in 1984 remains one of the UK's greatest sporting moments, and the mayors of Sarajevo and East Sarajevo have invited the Nottingham pair to perform the routine on February 13 in order to mark the anniversary of the dance in the same arena.

"We are delighted to be invited back to Sarajevo," the pair are quoted as saying in the Nottingham Post. "It will be an emotional day for us and one which we are very much looking forward to. To return to the place which provided such a life-changing moment for us will be an exciting and rewarding way to mark the 30th anniversary."

Torvill and Dean will be accompanied at the event by a team of British junior and senior skaters.

"We will be taking a squad of talented young skaters with us to Sarajevo - a place which is very significant to us. We hope this will inspire them to become the next Olympic champions in such a wonderful sport," they added.
