Alistair and Jonny Brownlee set a new course record after crossing the finish line together to win the Abu Dhabi triathlon.

Olympic champion Alistair and London 2012 bronze medallist Jonny finished the 1.5km swim, 100km bike ride - which took place on the Formula 1 Yas Marina Circuit - and 10km run in three hours, 12 minutes and 21 seconds.

"We led out of the swim, stayed focused on the bike and gained a strong lead for the run," said Alistair.

Competing at the race for the first time, Jonny said: "I've done the same events for four or five years now and so it's really cool to go somewhere so completely different.

"Where else can you ride on a F1 circuit and bike in the pits and chicanes? The Yas Marina Circuit was a highlight and, due to the smooth tarmac, allowed me to get up to 65km/h on my bike which I really enjoyed."

Switzerland's Ruedi Wild took third place, finishing more than four minutes behind the Brownlee brothers.
