Thorpe in 'good health' despite shoulder infection
Five-time Olympic champion Ian Thorpe is in a Sydney hospital receiving treatment for a shoulder infection.
Thorpe has had numerous operations on his left shoulder, but the swimmer's spokesman stated on Tuesday that he was in "good health."
His spokesman told BBC Sport: "Following multiple operations after his fall in January, Ian has contracted two separate infections, both of which are being treated with antibiotics.
"He is not in ICU [intensive care unit]."
In February, the 31-year-old's manager James Erskine revealed Thorpe had been admitted to rehab for depression treatment. Thorpe was taken Bankstown Hospital after he had been found in a disorientated state on the street where his parents live in Sydney.
