More gold for Glover and Stanning at World Cup
Britain's Olympic champions Helen Glover and Heather Stanning have won the women's pair at the second World Cup meet in France.
This was a first international meet for Yeovil-born Stanning, 29, since she won gold at the London Games alongside 28-year-old Glover, from Cornwall.
Their time of seven minutes and 2.91 seconds was enough to beat two American boats.
Stanning returned to rowing last November after a six-month spell in the army and won the British trials in April.
The third and final World Cup event takes place from July 13-15 in Lucerne with the World Championship following from August 24-31 in the Netherlands.
