Christie takes gold in World Cup finale

Elise Christie won gold in the final World Cup 1,000m speed skate event of the season.

Christie, 24, finished one second ahead of Canada's Kas Bradette in her final competitive action before next month's World Championships in Moscow with a time of one minute and 31.51 seconds.

Korean Shim Suk-hee took bronze.

The Scot finishes second in the World Cup rankings, behind Shim.

Christie's Great Britain team-mate Charlotte Gilmartin placed 48th overall.
