How many F1 drivers have had one win, but done it at their home Grand Prix? asked Mark Bevan

There are only two drivers who fit the bill here. Ludovico Scarfiotti, from Turin, won the Italian GP at Monza in 1966, driving a Ferrari. He never won again before his death in a hill-climbing event in 1968.

The other man whose only success came at home was Carlos Pace, who won the Brazilian GP in 1975. Pace himself was killed in as plane accident two years later, and not long afterwards the Interlagos circuit - where he had won his only championship race - was renamed in his honour.

The Frenchmen Jean-Pierre Beltoise (1972) and Olivier Panis (1996) both won their only GPs in Monaco, the tiny principality embedded in the south of France.

The following drivers tasted their first GP victory at home: Stirling Moss (1955 British GP), Tony Brooks (1957 British), Gilles Villeneuve (1978 Canadian), Jean-Pierre Jabouille (1979 French), Alain Prost (1981 French), Nigel Mansell (1985 European GP at Brands Hatch) and Johnny Herbert (1995 British).
