Carl Froch's refusal to stage his fight with Mikkel Kessler in Danish city Herning has intensified the row between the camps.

The undefeated Brit, who will defend his WBC super-middleweight belt in the contest, has been promised more money if the clash takes place in Herning. Despite this, Froch would prefer to face Kessler in Copenhagen, which he says would be an easier venue for his fans to reach. Herning is 150 miles from the Danish capital.

"It will be difficult for my fans to get to Herning, but much easier if it was in Copenhagen," he said. "I'm not going to Herning.

"It's got to be a mutually agreeable venue and it's never going to be mutually agreeable if the fight takes place in Herning."

The bout is part of the Super Six tournament for the unified WBA and WBC super-middleweight titles. Kessler lost the WBA belt in his first match of the series after being defeated by Andre Ward, while Froch laboured to victory over Andre Dirrell.
