Beth Tweddle claimed her third world title as Great Britain claimed three medals at the World Gymnastics Championships in Rotterdam.

After two of her main rivals fall from the bars, Tweddle produced a near-perfect display to regain the title she last won in 2006.

With China's He Kexin and Huang Qiushuang scoring 13.966 and 14.400 respectively, Tweddle held her nerve to claim gold with a score of 15.733.

Tweddle won world gold on the floor last year, but was delighted to win a second world title in her signature event.

"It means everything to me to regain the bars title," Tweddle said. "I have worked so hard day in day out in the gym for this so I'm very proud.

"I wasn't watching the previous routines but from the noise of the crowd I could tell the two Chinese girls ahead of me had fallen and so I tried to remain calm, but knew at that point that if I went clean I had a great chance of winning the title."

Olympic bronze medallist Louis Smith went one better to claim silver on the pommel horse, while Dan Purvis matched his European bronze medal on the floor.
