Lin Dan denied historic win in All England final

Olympic champion Lin Dan failed to become the first men's singles player of the open era to win five All England titles on Sunday after he was beaten by defending champion Lee Chong Wei at Birmingham's National Indoor Arena.
Seeded third in the competition, Lin was the undoubted favourite, with injuries limiting his playing time throughout the year. However, he fell to a shock 21-17, 21-17 defeat as Lee avenged his recent loss at the Korean Open.
"I played safe today, I didn't go for the points at all," Lee said. "But I was mentally strong this time."
Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen produced a spectacular fightback to claim the men's doubles title for the first time. The top seeds missed out in the final last year, and looked set to suffer a similar fate as they lost the first game before going 16-11 down, but rallied to clinch a 15-21 21-18 21-18 win over Malaysia's Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong.
"We're going back to Denmark tonight but we have two big bottles of champagne and I think we will drink them," Mogensen said. "We're going to the Swiss Open next week - hopefully we will win that too and then we'll have a huge party after that."
Wang Xiaoli and Yu Yang needed just 27 minutes to sweep to the women's doubles title against Japan's Mizuki Fujii and Reika Kakiiwa 21-2 21-9.
Japan took on China in the women's singles final, and it was China's Wang Shixian who triumphed, beating Eriko Hirose 24-22 21-18.
And the Chinese underlined their dominance, with victory in the mixed doubles as Chen Xu and Jin Ma comfortably beat Thailand's Sudket Prapakamol and Saralee Thoungthongkam 21-13 21-9.
