Australian referee Kinsey took charge of eight Tests between 1986 and 1993, but will be remembered for his handling of the first Test between the British & Irish Lions and New Zealand in 1993. A contentious try decision, to All Black Frank Bunce, and a late penalty failed to win the hearts of the Lions. Kinsey was capped by the ARU for services to refereeing in 2006 and has also served on the IRB board of referee assessors.
