London Wasps have continued their recent recruitment drive with the signing of former New Zealand lock Ross Filipo from Bayonne on a two-year contract.

The 31-year-old boasts a wealth of experience, having been capped by the All Blacks and New Zealand Maori in addition to winning three Super Rugby titles with the Crusaders.

The mobile second-row graduated from the Hurricanes' development squad and featured for Wellington at provincial level before switching to Canterbury and eventually France's top division in 2009.

"I am really looking forward to joining Wasps who have exciting plans for next season," he said. "I know they have been one of England's most successful clubs and I hope I can play a role in helping them to getting back to the top of their game."

Filip follows Narbonne's Jeremy Castex, Gloucester's Nicky Robinson, Exeter's Ryan Davis and Sale's Chris Bell in committing his future to Adams Park.

"This is another sign of our desire to strengthen our squad for next season, especially in the pack," Wasps boss Leon Holden said. "Ross's size, mobility and level of experience will be a great asset to the squad. He is a strong ball carrier and an excellent set-piece operator so we look forward to him joining us in the summer."
