Wasps captain John Hart has been ruled out for between three and four months with torn knee ligaments.

The No.8 suffered the injury during Wasps' 25-11 Amlin Challenge Cup victory over Bayonne at Adams Park. The loss of Hart is another big blow for Dai Youngs' injury-hit squad.

Joe Worsley, Steve Thompson and Dan Ward-Smith have already retired this season due to injury and Wasps have also confirmed lock Ross Filipo will be out for the rest of the season after undergoing shoulder surgery. However flanker Jonathan Poff and prop Simon McIntyre are recovering well from respective knee and toe injuries and are set to make their returns to action in the coming weeks.

James Cannon, Joe Launchbury and Billy Vunipola are all on course to return in February while Tom Rees could play again before the end of the season.
