The Maori All Blacks have unveiled their squad ahead of their three-match tour of the UK with Tanerau Latimer named skipper.
Latimer has four caps for the All Blacks and is joined in the squad by fellow Test-capped players Jason Eaton, Jarrad Hoeata and Hika Elliot. The side will be coached by ex-Leicester Tigers centre Daryl Gibson with Highlanders boss Jamie Joseph acting as head coach.
They will start their three-match tour against Leicester on November 13 and will then play a Championship XV in Doncaster on November 17. They finish their tour with a match against Canada in Oxford on November 23.
And Joseph said he was delighted with the calibre of his team. "The Maori All Blacks are a unique team and we feel very privileged to be part of this special campaign," Joseph said. "We have selected Tanerau as captain for his perfect mix of talent and leadership on and off the field.
"We are very excited about this tour to England as the programme offers an excellent opportunity to display the depth of talent we have. Taking on the Leicester Tigers and the Championship XV will be a challenge for us, especially knowing that the home advantage will be a huge factor for them.
"We are looking forward to the challenge and I know these young men selected today will rise to the occasion."
