Australia fly-half Quade Cooper is set to follow Sonny Bill Williams into the world of professional boxing, according to reports.

The Australian and New Zealand media was thick with reports on Sunday that Cooper would announce a move into the ring at a press conference in Brisbane on Monday. The controversial fly-half is currently recovering from a knee injury in Australia and was not involved in the Wallabies' end-of-season tour to Europe.

Cooper's future with the Wallabies could also be confirmed on Monday with 24-year-old yet to announce if he will sign a new contract with the Australian Rugby Union. He labelled the environment in the Wallabies camp as "toxic" earlier this season and reports last week suggested he would not sign a new deal with the ARU.

Cooper, who has previously been linked with a move to rugby league, was fined for his outburst before injury ended a miserable season, in which lost his status as the Wallabies' star player and one of the leading talents in world rugby.

Williams and Cooper are close friends and reports say the Wallaby will fight on the undercard of the former All Black centre's bout with South African Francois Botha.
