The New Zealand Rugby Union (NZRU) has cleared Zac Guildford to play for Hawke's Bay club Napier Tech, five weeks after the 11-Test All Blacks winger withdrew from the Crusaders Super Rugby squad indefinitely after being involved in another alcohol-related incident. Guildford, 24, has committed to a continuing care plan after completing an initial intensive treatment program, NZRU general manager of professional rugby Neil Sorensen said. The union has received professional advice that Guildford can return to rugby and attend the misconduct process, Sorensen said. "We will be meeting with Zac early next week to address the outstanding misconduct allegations," Sorensen said in a statement. "But in order to ensure that the process is fair to him, it is not appropriate to comment further, pending the outcome of that process." © AAP
