George Moala slapped with ban after high tackle
ESPN Staff
April 8, 2013
Blues wing George Moala has been given a one-week suspension for a high tackle on Buxton Popoalii in his side's 29-18 win over the Highlanders at Eden Park at the weekend. Popoalii was knocked unconscious as he was hit by a running Moala as he caught a high ball. He was immediately yellow carded but on review it was decided the incident met the threshold for him to have been issued with a red card. The ban means Moalam who was withdrawn from the game after serving his ten-minute suspension, will now miss next weekend's home game with the Hurricanes.
