An auction for a limited edition framed and signed All Blacks 2013 replica jersey has raised more than $10,000 for the Typhoon Haiyan disaster relief effort in the Philippines.
The team, which like many were deeply moved by the Typhoon Haiyan disaster, wanted to contribute to the fundraising efforts. New Zealand, which have recently concluded a historic 14-game unbeaten calendar year, decided to donate a framed jersey personally signed by each member of the 2013 All Blacks Squad.
The prized jersey was purchased by a Sydney-based All Blacks fan, who selected Oxfam as the charity of choice for the donation.
Luke Bell from Oxfam Australia said: "it's an extremely generous contribution and we are very grateful for this support."
Support is still needed with at least 18 million people living in the worst affected regions and estimates suggest more than 11 million people have been affected across 41 provinces. To donate to Oxfam visit their site.
