Heaslip commits to Leinster for three years

Ireland international Jamie Heaslip has signed a three-year contract with Leinster which will keep him at the club until the end of the 2016-17 season.

"It is great to have signed on for another three years with Leinster," Heaslip said. "Leinster is where I wanted to continue playing and I am happy that the process is now at an end. I am looking forward to playing my role in driving success for both Leinster and Ireland."

"We are delighted that Jamie has committed his future to Leinster and Ireland for the next three years," Phillip Browne, the chief executive of the Irish board, said. "He has been one of most consistent performers and top No. 8s in world rugby for many years and has played a starring role for Leinster, Ireland and the Lions.

Leinster CEO Mick Dawson,added: "Jamie has played a massive role in Leinster's success over the past six or seven years, he is a key leader within the squad and he will play an integral part in the club's plans to compete for silverware in the years to come."

Heaslip made his senior debut for Leinster in March 2005 and has since made 176 appearances for the club, scoring 34 tries. His Ireland debut came at the end of 2006 and he has gone on to win 60 caps.
