The Crusaders snatched a one-point win over the Stormers in Christchurch

The Crusaders' lengthy injury list continues to grow with injuries set to force Corey Flynn and Willi Heinz out of the Crusaders side for a lengthy period. Both players left the field during the sides 14-13 win over the Stormers and are unlikely to return for several weeks.

Suffering a suspected fractured eye socket, Flynn will require scans to determine the damage. If the fracture is confirmed the hooker may need surgery and potentially be sidelined for several months.

"It was only after the game that they realised something wasn't quite right," coach Todd Blackadder told Fairfax Media. "He talked about some discomfort at half-time but it didn't seem too over the top at the time."

Blackadder will also lose halfback Heinz with a calf muscle injury and isn't hopeful of his return to Super Rugby any time soon.

"He's pulled his calf and it sounds like a serious one. That means Mitchell [Drummond] will come in."

Only three weeks into the season and the Crusaders have already suffered a hefty injury toll. Flankers Richie McCaw (fractured thumb) and George Whitelock (strained adductor muscle), and centre/wing Adam Whitelock (hamstring) top the list. While wing Nafi Tuitavake may recover from his hamstring injury to face the Rebels in Melbourne on Friday night.
