Clermont captain Aurelien Rougerie is a doubt for Saturday's Heineken Cup semi-final against Saracens, the French club have confirmed.

Rougerie suffered a hamstring injury during Clermont's disappointing 22-6 loss to Top 14 rivals Racing Metro last Saturday and the centre is likely to be replaced by New Zealander Benson Stanley if he fails to recover in time for this weekend's clash at Twickenham.

In a statement, Clermont said: "The progress of the [Rougerie's'] injury will be closely followed all week in the hope of a return to the pitch in coming days."

Rougerie was not the only Clermont player to suffer against Racing Metro. Back-rows Fritz Lee and Damien Chouly may also be forced to miss the semi-final after sustaining knee and shoulder injuries respectively.
