Dane Coles and Beauden Barrett have each recovered from injury to boost the Hurricanes for their must-win Super Rugby derby against the Chiefs at Westpac Stadium in Wellington on Saturday.

Coles returns from the back injury that forced his withdrawal from the team that lost to the Highlanders last week, while Barrett has recovered well from a hip injury.

Hurricanes flanker Jack Lam, meanwhile, will play his 50th match for the Hurricanes this weekend.

"Personally, I'm humbled and honoured to reach 50 games, but as a team this match is huge for us in terms of how the remainder of our season plays out," Lam said. "I'm just looking forward to getting stuck in and leaving everything out on that field."

Hurricanes: Andre Taylor; Cory Jane, Conrad Smith, Alapati Leiua, Julian Savea; Beauden Barrett, TJ Perenara; Victor Vito, Jack Lam, Faifili Levave; James Broadhurst, Jeremy Thrush; Jeffery Toomaga-Allen, Dane Coles, Ben Franks. Replacements: Ash Dixon/Reggie Goodes, Chris Eves, Reggie Goodes/Mike Kainga, Brad Shields, Ardie Savea, Chris Smylie, Tim Bateman, Matt Proctor/James Marshall.
