Southbridge club manager Chris McMillan said that Carter ''pulled up well" after scoring 14 points through two penalties and four conversions, while coach Doug Maginness said the All Blacks fly-half ''did all his core roles well, passing, kicking and tackling".

"He seems to be coming back into it quite nicely," Maginness said.

"Todd Blackadder will have to ask him whether he thinks he's up to [playing for the Crusaders against the Hurricanes this weekend]."

More than 1000 people watch Carter's latest match for Southbridge, after 2000 had watched his comeback the week before.
