Ma'a Nonu will be available for New Zealand selection against Argentina in Napier this weekend.
Nonu has been sidelined since injuring his right shoulder during the drawn Rugby Championship Test against the Wallabies in Sydney three weeks ago, but Hansen insists he has no doubts over his fitness even though the centre sat out a training session on Sunday.
"We're sure [he's fit], but we're waiting to see because there is a whole week of training to go yet," Steve Hansen said. "At this stage we expect him to be available, but we don't know the team until Thursday."
Nonu's return couldn't be more timely after his replacement, Ryan Crotty, suffered a broken cheekbone in the 51-20 win over Australia last week.
Whoever takes to the park against the Pumas, Hansen has urged his players against getting carried away following the demolition of the Wallabies.
"We have to put a big full stop on the performance two weeks ago and get ourselves mentally and physically right for this encounter on Saturday," he said. "They'll have to front up at least as well as they did last week and that's about being accountable for their preparation and their roles."
Hansen said it would be foolish to take Argentina lightly after back-to-back close defeats by South Africa.
"You could easily dismiss [Argentina] because of what's happened in the past, but anyone who is watching them will certainly respect them," he said.
The Argentina squad will be based in Auckland for the week before heading to Napier for their match with the All Blacks next Saturday.
