Mehrtens unlikely to play against Waratahs

Rib injury received in the win against the Bulls unlikely to be risked in the lead up to the semi finals.

Crusaders' coach Robbie Deans has confirmed that the rib injury sustained by first five Andrew Mehrtens in the first half of Friday evening's clash with the Bulls will sideline him for the coming weekend's game against the Waratahs, also in Christchurch.

Mehrtens received the injury after being tackled by scrum half Deon de Kock. Mehrtens has not suffered any breaks , but Deans said on Saturday, ' Andrew will be reassessed early in the week but at this stage it looks highly unlikely he will be available for the match with New South Wales.'
