Tietjens hopes to strengthen New Zealand sevens squad

New Zealand sevens coach can select Super 12 players for Paris tournament.

Super 12 players, unavailable for all but the Wellington round in February, are available again for the final round in Paris on May 27 & 28, but Tietjens can only target players out of playoff contention.

So far, only the Chiefs have definitely dropped out of contention , making available Bruce Reihana, Roger Randle and Damien Karauna. Tietjens will have to wait a little longer to discover whether players from the Hurricanes, Highlanders and Blues subsequently become available. This does not help his planning and organisation, neither does their unavailablity, whatever happens, for the training camps in Auckland on May 8 & 9 and May 18 to 22.
