Metcalfe should make tour of New Zealand
May 1, 2000

Glasgow Caley coach Richie Dixon remains optimistic that full-back Glenn Metcalfe will be fit for the Scotland tour of New Zealand.

Metcalfe was taken off at half-time in the 35-27 defeat of Dunvant at Stirling with an ankle injury.

But Dixon is confident that the injury will not stop Metcalfe playing for national coach Ian McGeechan in the summer.

"Glenn went over on his ankle and the injury will be monitored over the next few days. At the moment, it doesn't look too severe," said Dixon.
