All Black coach responds to the disappointment of five unprecedented defeats over the weekend.

As concern mounts in New Zealand about All Black prospects in the forthcoming Tri Nations series coach Wayne Smith has adopted a relaxed approach , pointing out that the form of one weekend has to be seen in context. He is just two weeks away from announcing his first All Black squad of the season, and has conceded on New Zealand radio that he and his fellow selectors, Tony Gilbert and Peter Thorburn, are still looking at midfield and loose forward combinations.

New Zealand sides generally made a good early start to Super 12 but as the Australians and South Africans got into their stride sides such as the Hurricanes , Blues and Highlanders started to show patchy form.Although the Highlanders will be playing holders the Crusaders in one of Saturday's semi finals, there is a heated debate developing in New Zealand about the quality of player available to Smith.
