New Zealander Glenn Ross has been appointed as Sale Sharks' new coach.

The Kiwi, who coached predecessor John Mitchell at Waikato before moving on to take charge of Otago Highlanders in the Super 12s, will take up his new appointment when training resumes at Heywood Road later this month.

Sale's chief executive, Graham Walker, said: "We are delighted to have secured the services of Glenn. He has a great track record and is the type of very experienced coach that the club is needing at present. Glenn has a reputation for man management and has worked with some of the biggest names in the game."
