Four changes expected for Springboks

Injuries and tactical considerations are expected to force coach Nick Mallett to make changes for Saturday's Tri-Nations test against the All Blacks in Christchurch.

The head injury which has forced Krynauw Otto to return home to South Africa makes a second row reshuffle necessary. Andre Venter, who has played test rugby in the second row, is expected to move forward from the back row to partner Albert van den Berg, allowing former skipper Corne Krige to fill the gap at openside.

At fly half , Braam van Straaten's defensive strength is expected to earn him a recall, at Louis Koen's expense. 1995 World Cup winner Japie Mulder is another player who has been forced home through injury. His place in midfield seems likely to go to up and coming DeWet Barry.
