Coach Bryce Woodward has named his squad to contest the forthcoming NPC First Division.

It now seems likely that the Brumbies' ex-Wallaby winger Mitch Hardy will not now be making an appearnace for the Whangarei-based Northlanders. Last week
there was speculation that Hardy would be crossing the Tasman, but he is reported to have broken off communication with the Northland union.

Overseas players who will be returning include ex Springbok scrum half Joggie Viljoen and Fijian test players Joeli Veitayaki and Fero Lasagavibau.

Viljoen made such an impact in last year's competition that he won a contract to play for the Wellington Hurricanes in this year's Super 12.

Veitayaki has been playing for Fiji in the recently concluded Epson Cup and Fero was one of Fiji's stars in the World Sevens series. Both have played for Northland in the NPC previously.

The full Northland squad is :

Backs : Joggie Viljoen, Sam Pinder, Tony Monaghan, Jared Going, Robbie Johnson, Brad Miller, Jason Hita, Jason Shoemark, Norm Berryman, Fero Lasagavibau , Matthew Miller, Hayden Taylor, Clint Going, Roly Verran.

Forwards : Mike Storey, Wayne Rogers, Tim Knight, Joeli Veitayaki, Jason Hammond, Joe Ross, Bobby Larkin, Glenn Taylor (captain), Geoff Crawford, Brandon Jackson, Vula Maimuri, Brett Waaka, Justin Collins, Matthew Webber, Samiu Vahafolau.
