Counties-Manukau triumph in Maori sevens

This was a first Maori title for the side , the tournament held in Rotorua at the weekend.

In the final , Counties beat North Harbour 33-22, having earlier beat Bay of Plenty A in the semi final. In the other semi North Harbour were too strong for Hawkes Bay, the defending champions, running out 24-7 winners.

In the women's final Bay of Plenty A made amends for their male counterparts, beating North Harbour 21-17.
