The Highlanders, handily placed in fifth place after their round five win over the Bulls, have announced a number of changes in their starting line-up for Friday's clash with the Chiefs in Rotorua.

Jeff Wilson, fit again after suffering an injury in South Africa which has kept him out of three games, returns to the right wing to replace the suspended Aisea Tuilevu.Wilson had started the season at full back , but with Tuilevu's absence and the good form shown by Brendan Laney at full back coach Peter Sloane has restored Wilson to the position he may well occupy for the All Blacks this season.

Tony Brown, dropped for the Bulls match, is also restored to fly half with Mark Urwin , his replacement last Saturday, returning to the bench.

Loose-head prop Carl Hoeft will also start against the Chiefs. Last week Carl Hayman was preferred after the All Black prop suffered a slight injury shortly before kick off. Taine Randell is still unfit and unavailable for selection, hooker Anton Oliver continuing to deputise as skipper.

HIGHLANDERS: Brendan Laney, Jeff Wilson, Romi Ropati, Pita Alatini, Iliesa Tanivula, Tony Brown, Billy Fulton, Samiu Vahafolau, Finau Maka, Kelvin Middleton, John Blaikie, Simon Maling, Kees Meeuws, Anton Oliver (c), Carl Hoeft.
