Fifty-one players - 28 forwards and 23 backs - have been named to attend the New Zealand Colts' second training camp and final trial at the Adidas Institute of Rugby in Palmerston North from June 1 to 5.

The final Colts squad will be named on Tuesday, June 5. They will remain in camp before leaving for the Southern Hemisphere Alliance Tournament in Sydney from June 16 to July 1.

The squad contains a number of players who were in the triumphant side which lifted the title in Auckland in 2000. These include last year's skipper Aaron Mauger and Wellington flanker Jerry Collins. His inclusion seems to be an indication that he will not be named in the All Black training squad which will be announced on Sunday. This news will come as a surprise to those who expected Collins to have made sufficient progress during this year's Super 12 to warrant inclusion in Wayne Smith's first squad of the year.

Others with either Super 12 or NPC experience named include Mils Muliaina, Kristian Ormsby, Jason Shoemark, Clarke Dermody, Isaac Boss, Riki Flutey, David Gibson, Seilala Mapusua, Shannon Paku, suggesting that the New Zealanders will again be able to field a formidable side .
