Yates signs for Sale

The Hurricanes' prop forward Kevin Yates will return to England with the Sale Sharks next season.

Sale's joint owner Ian Blackhurst said: "We are absolutely delighted that Kevin has decided to join us and his signing makes a statement that we can attract players of his calibre.

"We aim to announce further signings soon. Our front five under-performed last season and we intend to provide our exciting backs with a dominant platform in the future."

Yates, 28, said, "I could have joined a team established at the top of the Premiership but I wanted a challenge and believe that Sale have a good two-year plan."

He added, "I would love to play for England again and England manager Clive Woodward and forwards coach Andy Robinson were both at Bath with me so know what I can do."
