Muir pushes Cribb to Maori bench
June 6, 2001

Chiefs captain Deon Muir has pushed All Black No.8 Ron Cribb to the Maori bench for Saturday night's clash against the Wallabies at the Sydney Football Stadium.

Muir, who inspired the Chiefs in an impressive Super 12 season, will captain the side, which is expected to give the Wallabies a solid hit-out in their first game for the year.

Auckland and former All Blacks five-eighth Carlos Spencer was named at fullback in a possible pointer to All Black selection with Christian Cullen to miss the first three Tests due to knee surgery.

Cribb and Spencer are both carrying niggling injuries, but are expected to play.
