Lomu coy on league moves
August 9, 2001

All Blacks giant Jonah Lomu is giving nothing away about a possible move to rugby league, and in particular the New Zealand Warriors.

Lomu plays his 50th Test when the All Blacks meet the Wallabies in Saturday's Tri-Nations game at Dunedin's Carisbrook.

He comes off contract with the New Zealand Rugby Football Union at the end of the year and speculation is mounting over what his future holds. Last month the Warriors held talks with Lomu's manager and are expected to renew discussion later in the year.

But Lomu, who made his debut for the All Blacks at the 1995 World Cup, preferred to concentrate on Saturday's game rather than comment on his future.

"I've put everything on hold and left things to my management group," Lomu said. "Everybody keeps on throwing in the Warriors (question) but I've only talked to my manager once and he only mentioned it once.

"I asked him what was going on and he said, 'I don't know'."
