The Boot set for Hall of Fame
October 1, 2001

All Black great Don Clarke will be inducted into the International Rugby Hall of Fame in London on November 23.

He is one of 10 players from around 600 nominated worldwide to join the elite.

Clarke, who played for the All Blacks 119 times from 1956 to 1964, is currently fighting melanoma.

He returned to New Zealand with his wife, Patsy, from his home in South Africa last month and was feted throughout his stay, most notably at an Eden Park luncheon attended by almost all his former All Black team-mates.

Clarke's daughter Shelley said her father was "absolutely overwhelmed" at the Hall of Fame election. "He finds it all incredible."
