North Harbour progress to semis

North Harbour ensured a home semi-final in thsi year's NPC with a 32-26 victory over Southland in Invercagill.

Harbour racked up five tries to South land's three, with Rodd Penney and Rico Gear both picking up a brace for the visitors.

North Harbour led 24-15 at half time but Southland fought back strongly after the break.

Victory came in reach for the Southerners in the last five minutes as they camped themselves on the opposition's goal line but were held out by Harbour's brave defence.

Midfielder Hayden Martine scored twice for the Southerners with captain Brendon Timmins also dotting down.
