Seilala Mapusua has replaced George Leaupepe as the final player in the Highlanders' 2002 Super 12 squad.

Leaupepe has been ruled out through injury, meaning Mapusua becomes the 28th player in the team.

Highlanders coach Laurie Mains (pictured) believes the youngster will cope well. "Seilala Mapusua has really worked hard for this opportunity and shown that he is really hungry to be given a chance," he told nzoom.com.

"He is an exciting young player who will benefit greatly from being exposed to this level."

Maposua said he would try and make the most of his chance. "I am very excited and trained hard all summer for this. I am very happy being rewarded this opportunity and look forward to the challenges of Super 12," he said.
