Canterbury will have to do without No.8 Mose Tuiali'i for the New Zealand Cup rugby playoffs. The former All Black is in a neck brace and been told to rest for the next three weeks. That means he will miss his team's quarterfinal against Tasman in Christchurch on Friday night. Tuiali'i was injured during Canterbury's 25-6 win over Southland last Friday. He was cleared of any structural damage today when he was diagnosed with bruising of the spinal cord. "We're confident Mose will make a full recovery," Canterbury medical director Steve Muir said. "He will be assessed by specialists at Burwood Spinal Unit on Friday and we'll have more information regarding his ongoing management after that." Tuiali'i, 27, is joining Japanese club Yamaha at the end of the season. He played 42 times for Canterbury, 68 times for the Crusaders in at Super level, and made nine test appearances for the All Blacks. © NZPA
