Adlington admits defeat in four-pronged medal hunt

Rebecca Adlington has confirmed she will no longer be going for gold on four fronts at London 2012.
The double Olympic champion, who won 400m and 800m freestyle gold in Beijing four years ago, had intended to add the 200m event to her repertoire ahead of this summer's Olympics.
However, while Adlington still retains hope of a place in the British 4x200m freestyle relay squad, she has abandoned her plans of going for individual glory in the 200m.
"I won't be going for the 200," Adlington told Sky Sports News. "My goal was to just to go for the 400m and 800m. I will be doing the 200m at the second trials in June but that is just maybe for a spot on the relay team.
"To be honest I am unsure whether I will make a relay spot, it has not been a focus of mine for the whole year at all, so I am merely focused on the 400 and 800m and hopefully do well in those races."
