Dwain Chambers will find out on Monday whether he will be eligible for selection at London 2012 after the Court of Arbitration for Sport confirmed it will announce whether the British Olympic Association's lifetime ban for drug cheats still stands after the weekend.

Widespread reports have claimed the BOA stands to lose in its battle to retain a bylaw that sees doping offenders banned from competing at the Olympics for life.

Although there has been no official word from the court, senior officials have confirmed the BOA is not expecting to win its argument with the World Anti-Doping Agency. Should the BOA lose, sprinter Dwain Chambers, who tested positive for banned steroid THG in 2003, and cyclist David Millar, who was banned for two years in 2004 after testing positive for blood-booster erythropoietin, will be free to compete at this summer's Games.

WADA insists the stance is "non-compliant" with its global anti-doping code and the argument was heard by CAS in London in March. It has now been confirmed in a statement that a verdict will be revealed at 3pm BST on Monday.

"In the arbitration between the British Olympic Association [BOA] and the World Anti-Doping Agency [WADA], the CAS will issue its decision on Monday, April 30, 2012 at 4.00pm [Swiss time]," the statement read.

"A media release and the arbitral award with the grounds will be published on the CAS website at such time."
