Usain Bolt flirted with danger just months out from London 2012 when involved in a car crash on Sunday morning.

According to the Jamaica Gleaner, Bolt's car crashed at 5.15am in Half Way Tree, St Andrew. The world 100 and 200m record holder escaped unharmed.

Bolt had been speaking recently of his need to adopt more disciplined sleeping times in order to stay in top condition for the Olympic Games. The Jamaican acknowledged that his body was aging and therefore requires more rest.

However, his car crashed in the early hours of the morning, representing his second crash in less than three years. Back in 2009, Bolt rolled his BMW although he escaped with minor injuries.

Sprint rival Asafa Powell was said to have been at the scene on Sunday, although he was travelling in a different car. The pair recently raced in Oslo, won by Bolt in a time of 9.79s.
