Radcliffe, 38, faces a race against time to get herself to the start line at The Mall next Sunday, as osteoarthritis in her foot is continuing to cause her problems.

The Mail on Sunday suggests Radcliffe's mind is already made up, and that she will miss out on London 2012.

While the Brit insists that is not yet the case, with one last training run to come before she makes a final decision, she has given a pessimistic outlook.

"Hurt by Daily Mail & whoever thinks [they] know my situation, before I even do final test run. Not looking good but my heartbreaking news to break," she wrote on Twitter.

Marathon world record holder Radcliffe, a world champion in 2005, has never picked up an Olympic medal in her decorated career. She withdrew from the marathon after 36 kilometres at the 2004 Games, then finished 23rd four years later.
