Murray works out Djokovic puzzle to reach Olympic final

Andy Murray will get the chance to exact revenge on his Wimbledon conqueror after toppling Novak Djokovic to book his place in the Olympic singles final.
Murray has come up short against the big names in the game on the major stage, but he dictated play against Djokovic and a 7-5 7-5 win set up a final meeting with Roger Federer.
Having been forced to wait around for over five hours due to the epic match involving Federer and Juan Martin Del Potro, Murray showed no signs of ring-rust as he held to love and it set the tone.
Murray appeared intent on forcing the issue and a whipped forehand which dropped on the line earned him two break points in Djokovic's opening service game, but the Serbian came up with two massive serves to hold.
There was little between the pair in the opening set, but Murray made his move in the 12th game. He worked a break point on the back of a neat chip and charge and took his first opening with a forehand passing shot that had Djokovic stretching at thin air.
Djokovic had the opportunity to break at the start of the second set, but he framed a backhand and screamed towards the ground in disgust appearing to suggest he had received a bad bounce. Fortunate or not, Murray took full advantage as he came through the service game unscathed.
The second set followed a similar path to the first, with both players dictating behind their first serves.
Murray had the look of a player who believed he could get the job done and he showed tremendous courage to save a break point in the ninth game with a string of brilliant serves.
After a Djokovic hold, the 11th game followed a similar pattern to the ninth with Djokovic forcing Murray onto the back foot and earning a break point. It was a point Djokovic should have taken as he did not take advantage of a half-court ball.
And after scrambling through two service games on the spin, Murray grasped his chance. He was handed an opening by Djokovic who tightened on a backhand and sent it over the baseline, but on match point it was Murray who won it with a blistering return that the Serb could do nothing with.
With the light fading and a break on the horizon, Murray got the job done and guaranteed himself at least a silver medal - but his eyes will be on gold.
