Hoy issues funding warning

Sir Chris Hoy has warned of the dangers of cutting Olympic funding as organisers of the London 2012 marked the milestone of two years before the Games get underway.
With the Government cutting spending in all areas, UK Sport have warned that some Olympic sports could face cuts.
But the triple Olympic champion underlined the importance of funding for athletes, insisting he could not have achieved his success without the financial support of Lottery funding.
"For many reasons it's important to invest in sport," Hoy said, speaking at the unfinished Olympic velodrome.
"Lottery funding came on board in 1998 just when I was finishing university and it could not have come at a better time for me.
"I personally benefited massively from that and the public can stake a claim to being part of all the success we have had because they have essentially funded Olympic sport in this country."
