Paula Radcliffe will run part of the London 2012 Olympic course when she makes her competitive return in London next month.

The 37-year-old has confirmed she will take part in next month's BUPA London 10km, as she steps up her preparations for next year's Olympics following the birth of her second child, Raphael.

Radcliffe will end an 18-month absence at the Great Manchester Run on May 15, before competing in London on May 30.

"I can't wait to be running in London again," Radcliffe said. "Racing in London holds special memories for me and this event is a great opportunity to test myself against some good opposition and be competitive again over a shorter distance."

British record holder Mo Farah will also be running in the event. Race director David Bedford said: "It's great to have Britain's No.1 male and female distance runners.

"We are delighted to welcome Paula back to London after such a long absence and very much hope this race will be her first step on the road to Olympic success."
