Italy lock Santiago Dellape was born in La Plata, Argentina, moving to Italy to play for L'Aquila in 2001. He made his international debut in 2002 for Italy before switching his club allegiances to Treviso, with whom he won the Super 10 in 2003-04.
Dellape subsequently made the move to France, playing for Agen before joining Biarritz. He competed for Italy at the 2003 World Cup, playing against Tonga, Canada and Wales.
Dellape would have a second shot at the World Cup in 2007, sending Italy on their way to victory over Romania by scoring the game's opening try. Dellape won his 50th cap against Wales during the 2008 Six Nations.
