The latest round of Aviva Premiership action threw up a host of mesmerising showdowns - but who did enough to make our Team of the Week?

15. Ben Foden (Northampton Saints)

Was almost upstaged by his opposite number, the venerable Geordan Murphy, but showed his pace and guile for an early try and was a constant menace to the Tigers from deep.

14. Nick Abendanon (Bath)

A moment of magic and solo try from Abendanon, played out of position on the wing by Steve Meehan, turned Bath's narrow win over Leeds the way of the home side.

13. George Lowe (Harlequins)

The youngster is maturing into a top-class Premiership player and his added pace makes him a real threat in midfield. Had a hand in Mike Brown's try and did not shirk in defence when Quins were under pressure.

12. Anthony Allen (Leicester Tigers)

He may not be the biggest or fastest but he was too much for the brawny Saints midfield to handle with a couple of intelligent breaks, the first leading to Craig Newby's try.

11. James Simpson-Daniel (Gloucester)

England's loss remains Gloucester's gain as the in-form Simpson-Daniel ran through his full repertoire of tricks on his way to a try in the Cherry and Whites' 37-23 win over Exeter, securing fulsome praise from coach Bryan Redpath in the process.

10. Charlie Hodgson (Sale Sharks)

The England fly-half is on his way out of Edgeley Park but appears keen to keep the Sharks afloat. He was on top form as they eked out a draw with Newcastle, landing 14 points and keeping the Falcons honest with ball in hand.

9. Ben Youngs (Leicester Tigers)

Youngs' best attribute is to bring pace to the game and he refused to let Northampton settle, taking quick taps where possible early on and later playing a major role in his side's winning try.

1. Marcos Ayerza (Leicester Tigers)

Was part of a Tigers front-row that suffered at times in the scrum but was a major force around the park and rounded off an eye-catching display with the decisive try against Northampton.

2. Steve Thompson (Leeds)

The England hooker dragged Leeds back on to an even keel by showing all of his nous and power to peel off a maul for the Yorkshire side's try.

3. Brian Mujati (Northampton)

The former Springbok tight-head was his usual destructive self at the scrum, taking the Tigers pack down a peg or two in front of their own fans.

4. Louis Deacon (Leicester Tigers)

Deacon dismantled the Northampton lineout and turned in a typically gritty performance in the tight, also helping Newby across the line for the Tigers' opener.

5. George Skivington (Leicester Tigers)

The Tigers faithful are warming to the former Wasps lock, who was a menace in the lineout and athletic in the loose to complement Deacon's hard graft.

6. Thomas Waldrom (Leicester Tigers)

Another standout performance from the former Crusader, who continues to trot out pitch perfect support angles and vital carries for Leicester. And he looks like Rodney Dangerfield. There's almost too much to like about him.

7. Chris Robshaw (Harlequins)

Robshaw beats the excellent Newby to the No.7 jersey after marshalling a magnificent defensive effort from Quins as Wasps threw the kitchen sink at them in the second-half.

8. Andy Powell (Wasps)

The Wales No.8 did not deserve to end up on the losing side at the Stoop and captured the Man of the Match award thanks to a massive 22 carries and a strong offloading game.
