History suggests that Georgia should be feeling some trepidation as they head into their Pool B clash with Enlgand in Dunedin.

The only previous time the two teams met England obliterated their opponents as they ran in 12 tries in an 84-6 victory in the pool stages of the 2003 Rugby World Cup in Perth. Ben Cohen and Will Greenwood both scored two tries while Neil Back, Lawrence Dallaglio, Dan Luger, Mark Regan, Jason Robinson, Matt Dawson, Steve Thompson and Mike Tindall all touched down. Jonny Wilkinson landed two penalties and five conversions with Paul Grayson slotting four more conversions. The comprehensive victory was England's first match of their ultimately successful Rugby World Cup campaign as they went on to lift the Webb Ellis trophy at Telstra Stadium in Sydney.

However, Georgia are a much improved side and suffered their first international defeat of the year to Scotland in the previous round. Of course their six victories in 2011 have come over smaller nations and their fixture lists over the years largely explains why they have a 62.78% win ratio since their first international game in 1989.
